partypoker: Danish players and Party Poker

December 27, 2011

Party Poker has been granted a licence to operate a Danish poker site for Danish players. Below are the FAQ's concerning the new changes.

What is this new gaming law about?
The new law requires operators to obtain a Danish gaming licence in order to offer sports betting, poker and casino games in Denmark. Our licence means we are fully compliant with the regulatory directions set and supervised by the Danish Gambling Authority.

What changes come into effect because of the new law?
As per regulatory directions you will be required to update your PartyAccount with your CPR number.

What exactly happens on 1st of January 2012?
When you log in for the first time in the new year, your account will complete a quick automated process moving you to the new Danish client.

  • Your balance will immediately be available.
  • Your PartyPoints balance will immediately be available.
  • Your VIP level will stay the same.

So I don’t have to do anything?
That’s correct. Simply continue to play as usual and let the system update automatically on 1st January 2012.

I have a bonus in my account - what will happen with it?
The part of the bonus you’ve already earned points enough to redeem will be paid into your account. The rest of the bonus will be re-converted to the corresponding amount in PartyPoints and inserted into your account.

I have open/unsettled bets - what will happen with them?
Any open/unsettled bets will all be cancelled and the funds returned to your account.

Will my username and password stay the same?
Yes.

Will I still experience the same action at the poker tables?
Yes. You can still play the same tournament schedule and enjoy the same action from more than 40,000 daily players.

Will I still have access to a VIP host?
As a Palladium VIP you will still have access to a VIP host, their contact details will remain unchanged.

Are my cashouts from my PartyAccount tax-free?
Yes. Our Danish Gaming Licence means all your cashouts are tax-free.

If I am in Denmark, but not a Danish resident, can I still play?
Yes. However, you will need to be in possession of a Danish CPR number and a Danish NemID.
