William Hill-VIP: Playtech Acquired by William Hill

William Hill have just ironed out a deal for the acquisition of online poker services and technology provider Playtech, the company behind the iPoker network. The £424 million deal is pending the approval of William Hill shareholders, and it’s scheduled to be finalized before the end of April 2013.
The move marks the second major acquisition of the quarter for William Hill which has been pushing its online presence in a rather aggressive manner lately. The funds for the acquisition will be raised from a rights issue as well as from William Hill’s 2012 Bridge Credit Facility.
