Americas Cardroom: The Cage to Make Poker History

Americas Cardroom are set to make poker history by uniquely meshing tournament poker together with cash game action, in a 3-hour long, $5.1K, ground and pound poker extravaganza, called The Cage, which is already drawing attention from some of poker’s biggest names.

The Cage features a tournament format, but unlike in an actual tournament, the 5K chips that players will start the action with will have an actual dollar value attached to them.

At the end of 3 hours, those left standing in the cage will have their chips counted and they will be paid out according to how many chips they have, which means that the action itself is essentially cash game action.

For instance, if a player finishes with 50K chips to his name, he will be paid $50K. The event takes place on October 5, and qualifiers to it are already running, from as little as $1.5.
