Launched way back in 2005, at the peak of the online poker craze, Mansion Poker used to be a standalone poker operation, and a former Ongame network member, until a little while ago when it joined the popular iPoker network. The room now enjoys the benefits of a solid player base (provided by iPoker) and a host of interesting promotions it can run, thanks to its iPoker affiliation. Nowadays, one can take part in the ECOOP (the European Championship of Online Poker) at Mansion Poker and in a wide selection of other – similarly valuable – promotions. There’s only once problem when it comes to the incentives: the Mansion Poker rakeback, or rather, the lack of it. iPoker doesn’t offer rakeback on any of its member sites, and Mansion Poker is no exception: hence the inexistence of a Mansion Poker rakeback deal. The software that Mansion Poker runs on is the iPoker network you may already know from other poker rooms like Titan Poker, VC Poker and Expekt Poker. Overall, the software is a tight and solid little package, with a whole bunch of useful features and a very limited number of shortfalls. The graphics are decent, though somewhat repetitive and by and by dated-looking. The animations are smooth though, and the various special features offered are mostly excellent. Players can use a four color deck to make multi tabling easier on their eyes, and the graphical hand history feature is positively awesome – something other poker rooms should pick up too. The tournament selection is pretty solid on Mansion Poker. Most of the traffic is focused on the smaller buy-in MTTs and SNGs though. There are several daily freerolls on offer at Mansion Poker too. Though the prize-pools they offer are very small, they do give players an opportunity to have some cost-free fun and to add to their bankrolls a little too. The level of competition at Mansion Poker is rather industry standard. That means low and micro stakes tables are extremely loose, and as one goes up the stakes, the competition tightens up. The overall verdict: if it weren’t for the lack of Mansion Poker rakeback, we’d recommend this site by all means. |
